Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Looking Out for Temporary Workers’ Safety (via The National Law Review)
Summer months often spur a spike in temp work hiring. To help combat the issue of employers not having programs in place to ensure proper training and compliance with safety standards for these temp employees, the US Department of Labor’s OSHA is launching a new initiative. This initiative will help protect temporary workers from workplace hazards.
Mexican Economy Improves (via Staffing Industry Analysts)
The Mexican economy continues to grow and it’s estimated that the rate may pick up slightly in the near term. This is the fourth consecutive month that the Mexican economic index has increased, with its six-month growth rate picking up significantly since the second half of 2012. Beeline’s own Michael Magevney has also reported in the past that Mexico should be a place to look for your next contingent workforce program expansion.
Survey: 85% Say Online Talent is Competitive Advantage (via Staffing Industry Analysts)
Eighty-five percent of companies believe hiring freelance talent online gives them a competitive advantage. Additionally, 74% of companies reported that they will hire more freelancers in 2013, which could result in a spike in the flexible workforce.
