JACKSONVILLE, FLA., October 20, 2014 – Beeline, a global leader in software solutions for managing the extended workforce, announced today the donation of its former office furniture to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. Headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., Beeline’s Human Resources department spent several months planning the reconfiguration of its main office space to sustain the company’s employee and business growth.
The renovation project tasked Project Managers at Beeline’s parent company, Adecco Group, to reconfigure Beeline’s floor plan in a way that created approximately 60 more workspaces to accommodate additional employees. This required the removal of Beeline’s former cubicle furniture, including the corresponding desks, walls, dividers, shelves, and whiteboards. Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare will receive this furniture from approximately 115 cubicles, along with two filing cabinets that were in each cubicle, approximately 230 filing cabinets total.
Beeline made the decision to donate the furniture for several reasons. Beeline’s Human Resources Manager, Elijah Bradshaw explains, “When we began the planning phase of the project, we had to make a decision about what we would do with all of our existing office furniture. Because we were unable to reuse the furniture, we were presented with the idea of having the furniture hauled away and put into a landfill. Given the extreme waste associated with this, we immediately decided that this was not a viable option.”
As a result, Beeline worked with Adecco Group to research local non-profit organizations that could benefit from a furniture donation. “All of the furniture is in excellent condition,” said Bradshaw, “and we really wanted someone to be able to make good use of it, even if it meant we gave it away.” Adecco Group learned about Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare’s need for office furniture and jumped at the chance to help. It was the perfect way for Beeline to offload the furniture in a socially responsible way while benefiting others. “Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare was a perfect candidate, as it enabled us to continue our focus on giving back to the community,” said Bradshaw.
HON Company, a leading designer and manufacturer of workplace furniture, manufactured all of the furniture that Beeline donated to the hospital. Cate Browne Young, Solutions Development Manager at Office Depot Furniture & Interiors, helped facilitate the donation of the office furniture between Beeline and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, stating, “They are thrilled with the furniture! It will be used to assist on many current projects that will ultimately help the community of Tallahassee, medical students, and patients.”
