European bank expands operations in Singapore and Hong Kong with Beeline VMS

The challenge
A global banking and financial services company based in Germany, this company offers a wide range of financial products and services for corporate, institutional, private, and business clients through its operations in more than 70 countries. In addition to its core European and North American market bases, the company has established strong extensions in fast-growing emerging markets, including the Asia- Pacific region.
As its operations grew, our client recognized the need for greater visibility into its contingent workforces in the Asian financial centers of Singapore and Hong Kong as well as a need for more consistent processes for managing these resources. Since its North American operations had successfully operated a Beeline vendor management system (VMS) for many years, they turned to us to implement a similar system for these two key Asian centers.
During preliminary planning, they considered two alternatives, including a phased approach, which would have started by implementing Beeline’s Resource Tracking solution only. Ultimately, they chose to implement an all-encompassing solution that incorporated a full suite of vendor management functionality and analytics in addition to worker tracking.
Beeline analytic tools helped client redeploy some suppliers and add others to support their needs while cutting costs per worker.
The solution
Beeline worked closely with the client’s managed service provider (MSP) to determine the client’s needs and set aggressive goals for VMS implementation. Despite extensive configuration and the development of special reports to align Singapore’s and Hong Kong’s reporting with other geographies, Beeline executed a smooth VMS implementation, and the system became operational within four months.
The results
- Using the reports and analytic tools provided by Beeline VMS, the client obtained a more impartial view of supplier performance. This resulted in a rate-card review and reorganization of their supply chain, redeploying some suppliers and adding others to support their needs, reducing costs per worker.
- In addition to delivering greater visibility, the client has seen that Beeline VMS delivers more accurate data, and its analytics provide more ways to transform the contingent workforce data into insights. This helps the client make better business decisions. Based on the success of this implementation, the client has asked Beeline to provide similar systems for other APAC operations in Australia, Japan, and India.
