Beeline & Walgreens' "Operation Warp Speed" for nursing home vaccines

April 20, 2021

As part of the CDC’s Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program, Beeline client Walgreens began administering COVID-19 vaccines to residents and staff at long-term care facilities in late December 2020. To provide vaccinations at warp speed to residents and staff at 35,000 long-term care facilities partnering with Walgreens, the company needed to add qualified pharmacists and pharmacy technicians quickly to their COVID-19 Vaccine Support Team.

Working closely with Walgreens and master service provider Allegis Global Solutions (AGS), Beeline added new locations, supported the creation of new job titles and rate cards within the VMS, and initiated a special “Operation Warp Speed” category within the buyer organization so that all COVID assignment activity and be tracked and reported. This new functionality was designed, coordinated, and implemented in approximately six weeks and at no cost to the client.

Walgreens’ “Operation Warp Speed” outreach to assisted living facilities began on January 25 and is now active across 49 states and Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico. Hundreds of contract pharmacists and pharmacy technicians have already provided life-saving vaccine doses to thousands of nursing facility residents and staff, and the company expects the program to continue until May 2021 or longer.

Beeline is proud to be able to contribute to the success of Walgreens’ “Operation Warp Speed” program.
