Post-Completion Beeline Platform Upgrades: How do permissions work? Are they the same from client to client?
No, the permissions are not the same from client to client. Each Beeline User Profile identifies your assigned Roles and User Types. These determine your ability to complete tasks, view data, and receive notifications within the platform.
It is important to understand the basics:
Role - Specifies actions and visibility. Within each role, granted and sometimes denied permissions are associated.
A few things to note:
- More than one role can be assigned to a single User Profile.
- If a Permission is “Denied” on a single user role, it is denied across all assigned user roles, even if other user roles have the permission set to "Granted". For example: if a user is assigned three roles and one of those roles has permission denied while the other two roles have the same permission granted; then the permission is DENIED to the user. A denied permission status will always override a granted permission status in the Beeline Platform Security Grid. This is standard Beeline Platform security functionality. The Client/Program Office is responsible for reviewing user profiles when there is a conflict between assigned permissions and making their preferred adjustments to resolve them.
User type - Specifies approvals and notifications.
The combination of roles may vary during the setup/configuration of user profiles in a Beeline Platform client instance. For this reason, the actions and visibility you see on each site can differ.
* You can take the course for free if you don’t want to be certified. However, the associated sub-role, dashboard access, certificate, and digital badge are awarded only to those who successfully pass the assessment and pay the fee.
